"Be" Complete

We must "do" - we all know that,

However "doing" may lead to spiritually "dying," when we hold to it tighter than we ought.

We are valued without deeds - we are complete, loved, perfected in Him - so we ought not hold our doing so tight that it becomes what we are doing.

The link here is that of doing and our value before God - which is wrong.  Our value before God is set, and now, "looking unto Jesus," we believe.  He will give us what we ought to do daily as a result, and within our belief.

"Faith without deeds is dead" - stillborn.  What, then are "deeds without faith?" As this song suggests - this, too, leads to death - and it stings to admit it in my life - my seeking to obey actually reeks of death, when I am doing it this way.

It seems to me the same question for the sinner as well as the saint - what am I worth, am I a person of value?  This is a primary question - of greater importance than "what must I do?" (or not do?) 

Ol' Blue Eyes (Frank Sinatra) perhaps has said it best:

 

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has not
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
